Influencing Factors of Dental Hygiene Students College Life Adjustment in COVID-19

Abstract
This study was conducted in order to confirm the influence of COVID-19 stress and resilience in dental hygiene students upon college life adjustment and to offer basic data to arrange a plan for these students to possibly spend successful university life. The research subjects correspond to dental hygiene students at universities where are located in Jeonbuk area. 163 students were surveyed by using questionnaire. The collected materials were carried out descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis by using SPSS 19.0. As a result of the research, the college life adjustment stood at averagely 3.24 points. The factors of influencing the college life adjustment included resilience(¥â=.534), health condition(¥â=.181), the counseling frequency with an academic advisor for one semester(¥â=.106), and COVID-19 stress(¥â=-.099). Therefore, an effort is needed for improving resilience in dental hygiene students. An endeavor should be made to properly control COVID-19 stress in addition to steady consultation with own supervisor aiming to maintain students¡¯ health and psychological stability. This study has a significance with regard to having secured basic data of the program to enhance the college life adjustment in dental hygiene students.
